about
Cleo Reed, an award-winning singer-songwriter, producer and creative, releases her latest track titled “Rover.” The track was co-produced by Heading, one-half of the bedroom pop duo Earth Dad.
Reed is a multi-genre artist who won Adidas Sound Labs Open Mic contest in New York City and whose song “Warm Hands” with all-female dream punk band Pretty Sick was featured on HBO’s comedy “High Maintenance.”
“Rover” is Reed’s first release since a string of features and collaborations, from “Smarty Jones” with rapper Wiki to several underground favorites with rappers Ade Hakim and Caleb Giles. “Name” by Giles and Reed was listed as a favorite song of 2018 by New Yorker music critic Hua Hsu who called it “a comparatively luxurious two minutes and fifty seconds.”
At two minutes and 39 seconds, “Rover” exposes Reed’s fans to yet another side of her lyricism, haunting, musing vocals and experimental production.
lyrics
you say you’ve got
feelings that you won't stop
shame we both know
You’re showin love for ego,
but it’s true
oh we do
change my ringtone -
switch lanes alone
bus ride too slow
vroom vroom choo choo
No more so-da,
my Range Ro-ver
This year is o-ver and
no you can’t sleep o-ver
No ya, no ya can’t sleep over x2
Over, Over, Over
Lake in my mind,
the safest place to deep dive
Eating cake all day
Could never be a mistake
Oh it’s true *2
Oh I do, Oh I do
Carbonated flavour
I’m my own saviour
Buy my own chaser
Save me from your favours
I don’t need ‘em
No more so-da,
my Range Ro-ver
This year is o-ver and
no you can’t sleep o-ver
No ya, no ya can’t sleep over x2
Over, Over, Over
