I learned early that my sexuality would always be subjected to many forms of discourse and abuse, even in circumstances most professional and settings that were in need of my skill. As many black women are underrepresented and exploited in the NYC scene, I ask “what visual can represent the reclamation of space?” The journey to reclaim is something that should have the space to feel sensual, enraged, archetypical, brazen…
“Breasts Got Big” is a song inspired by the circumstances where men plague spaces for art-making with misogynoir.
